well, the 40 days of fasting from tv and the internet are over.
i must say, this past month has been one of the most freeing of my life. i spent more time in prayer, reading and conversation than i ever have and i can't help but feel i have grown as a person.
i never realized how significant and time consuming tv and internet are to my life. going forward i plan on tempering my media consumption in an effort to stay more connected to the real world rather than the plastic universe of tv and the world wide web.
one of the major nuggets of truth that my eyes have been opened to is that peace cannot come when we allow the noise to bombard our lives. the more we let in the more the voice of christ becomes a faint whisper. the more we consume the less we give. it's simple but true and profound for me.
there is so much more to share that i have learned over the past 40 days, but i fully plan on sharing those things on this blog-o-dave over time.
i missed you my friends.
